Catbird is a welcoming independent boutique hotel that’s full of art, heart, and good vibes. This is what happens when you blur the line between hotel and home and add a hefty dose of counterculture. Now take all that and put it in RiNo, Denver's up-and-coming, industrial-chic makers paradise that just happens to be conveniently next to all the downtown action. Catbird serves as a meeting place for the community, inviting locals and visitors alike to gather, connect, collaborate, and inspire one another.

Denver is a city that is growing and evolving very quickly. As the city evolves into its new form, it is important to acknowledge the individuals who are dedicated to preserving the heart and soul of the city that is Denver, CO. Five Points is a sacred neighborhood in Denver with a very rich history. The coming of the Catbird Hotel marks the change in this neighborhood. Instead of painting just another pretty abstract painting that perpetuates the gross parts of gentrification, we acknowlege Kalyn Heffernan, Bree Davies, Suzi Q. Smith, LadySpeech Sankofa, and Karma Leigh. All women who not only dedicate a large part of their lives to the preservation of Denver culture but also work to honor the lives of common citizen through their social activist work, their individual creative outlets, community engagement, and professional careers. This mural is meant to celebrate their badassery and the great impact they have had on all of us native and recently transplanted. They been here.
