TODAY’S TOPIC: Social Responsibilty

QUESTION- Do creatives have a social responsibility?

BRIEF DESCRIPTION- Artists have been creating works that enhance the development of society for some time, many find it to be their purpose. In such a tumultuous time in the world, can creatives choose to create without conceptualizing a social impact? If the creative reflects their society, should they strive to create a society they would like to reflect?

  • Social Responsibility is an ethical framework and suggests that an entity, be it an organization or individual, has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large.

  • Society: The aggregate of people living together in a more or less ordered community.

  • Responsibility: The state or fact of having a duty to deal with something. The state of fact of being accountable or to blame for something.

  • Representative: A person chose or appointed to act or speak for another or others, in particular.
